houstaloid

houston had a great attitude out on the field this all star season, he was always trying to get his team excited, with a little help from his cheerleader mom. his team finished 2nd in state next to spokane, go figure that one. he had a great ride and is a great little ball player, we are so very proud of him and all that he has accomplished. GO THUNDER!!

pitching all star

houston pitched 2nd this all star season and came out a winner many times. playing bellevue in semi- finals of state was a stress breaker for mom. mom had to remove herself because she was so nervous. we were up 8-6, houston on the mound, bases loaded with one out. i took a walk to the bathrooms, came back for a pop catch by houston and a strike out on 3. they went on to the state finals against the all star team from spokane, what are the chances of that. spokane beat us in the final state game 12-7 and they went on to play in california. many ways we were glad we did not have to make that expensive trip. sure we will be at it again next year. you do now know how competitive you are as a parent until you have a child that plays competitive sports. glad it is over for this year, don't know how much more i could have taken.

an all star

houston had a great all star season of baseball, we are so proud of how far he has come.

fox news

this summer steve came home to greta van susteren on his front porch. anyone who does not know her she is a news reporter for fox. she has been following the joran/natelie holloway story since the story broke in aruba 3 years ago. supposedly joran has a new story and as it has been told to gretam, joran claims that he told his story to steve days after natalie went missing. not true! so here comes greta looking to steve to get his side of the story. as relunctant as he was to go on camera, he wanted to clear his name. who knows when and if this will air. hard to believe we were around during this terrible tragedy of one lost girl.

4th on whidbey

wonder woman and bobbie and richard join the parade this year. wonder woman had no crime to fight this year.

maxwelton parade whidbey

the queen this year is syd. she is so overjoyed! we gather at the farm and pre-funk till the parade gets underway, so whidbey, and what we wait for each year. thank god for good friends and good fun, for both kids and adults. bobbie and richard joined the riegns this year. glad to have you a part of the festivities.

july 3rd on whidbey

always a great day, rain or shine, everyone is feeling the american spirit. winners and loosers, but in the end we are all winners. young bloods won this year with their fish, steve was a judge and said it was fabulous. you go young bloods! who knows maybe one of them will end up being a chef someday.

wonderwoman

wonder woman is one of my good friends on the island. she broke it out last year in the parade and became front page news this 4th of july. go ck, you rock!

princess

the commissioner of the deer lake yaght club float (been for almost 9 years, new queen and king each year) is telling syd on july 3rd that she will be the queen of the float this year.

3rd of july

everyone looks forward to this day of the year. 3rd of july has become a big deal on whidbey with our friends who started the meat fest extravaganza 9 years ago. new members, new meats and always new winners. it is our haven and we always look forward to what is being made, who is wearing what, what the stations look like and if there is any new scoop to be had.

kells

every once in a while steve and i will hop on the bus from our transfer station and head down town for a dinner out. this day we hit kells on alley street by the market. this happens to be one of our favorites, and the fact that it is right across from the pink door, which is our favorite restaurant, is even better.

seattle skyline

i am one to go to the mariners games and like to sit low and have a good spot. this day most all seats were sold out. i was pissed to think i was in the nose bleeds. once i got my beer and made my way to the top i was happy for my seat. being that i am really a people watcher and less of a ball watcher this was the perfect spot for me. i have to say that i love where i live. seattle boasts so much beauty and i am greatful for it.

balashi

we brought a new member into our family this summer. his name is balashi (an area in aruba and also the local beer brewed there, we logged some time at balashi during their friday night happy hours on site). he is a cockapoo and we have really enjoyed him. anyone looking for a non shedding/hypo-allergenic dog, i highly recommend the type.

bellingham, wa

syd and i took an hour trip up to bellingham in late may to visit mimi and gampy (bobbie and richard) as they were there for a natural food conference. it was a beautiful weekend where we enjoyed a local pub with great local beer and open markets.

snowing in april

unheard of, snow in seattle is not a rarity, but snow in april is stretching it. but we did and it was crazy!

the scott girls

every once in a while the scott girls get together. this would be bobbie's sisters and the generations that follow. anyone that knows a scott girl knows what they are all about. little bit feisty, little bit organized, little bit "do it my own way," little bit- get the job done! the world needs more of these types of women. thank god for that scott blood!

palm springs

we had so much fun. just hanging by the pool and people watching. tennis, spirits, and water, what we are all about when it is snowing at home in late march.

spring break 08

we took the kids and went to palm springs this year. we had a great time. did nothing but sit by the pool and eat for a week. back home it was snowing. we knew we were in the right place. great new adventure for the family.
